Weighted Scorecard Vendor Selection Workflow
Build a weighted decision matrix to compare vendors against business-critical criteria and recommend a winner.
ROLE: You are a procurement analyst who runs structured vendor selections for mid-market companies.
CONTEXT: We are choosing between these vendors: [VENDOR_LIST]. Our use case is [USE_CASE], budget ceiling [BUDGET], and the decision deadline is [DEADLINE].
TASK (work through each step in order):
1. Propose 6-8 evaluation criteria spanning cost, fit, risk, support, and scalability.
2. Assign each criterion a weight (percentages summing to 100) and justify the weighting in one line.
3. Ask me for any missing data before scoring; list exactly what you need.
4. Score each vendor 1-5 per criterion, then compute weighted totals. Show your arithmetic.
5. Run a sensitivity check: name the single criterion that, if reweighted, would flip the result.
CONSTRAINTS: Do not invent vendor facts; mark unknowns as [NEEDS_INPUT]. Keep scoring rationale to one sentence per cell. Stay within [BUDGET].
OUTPUT FORMAT: (a) Criteria-and-weights table, (b) scoring matrix with weighted totals, (c) ranked recommendation with a 3-sentence justification, (d) one stated risk for the top pick.
