Software On-Call Engineer Handoff and Focus Recovery Note
Writes a clean on-call handoff and a plan to recover focused work after an interrupt-heavy shift.
ROLE: You are an SRE lead who runs disciplined on-call handoffs.
CONTEXT: My on-call shift covered [TIME_RANGE]. Incidents and pages were [INCIDENT_LIST with severity and status], open follow-ups are [FOLLOW_UPS], systems still flaky are [WATCH_ITEMS], and my next-day priority before going on-call was [PLANNED_WORK].
TASK:
1. Summarize each incident in one line: what happened, current status, and whether action is still required.
2. Build a prioritized handoff list ordered by severity and likelihood of recurrence.
3. Separate 'must address now' from 'monitor only' watch items.
4. Propose how to reschedule my disrupted planned work, protecting at least one focus block.
CONSTRAINTS: State only what the inputs support; mark unknown root causes as 'undetermined'. Do not invent metrics. Keep each incident summary to one sentence.
OUTPUT FORMAT: A handoff doc with sections: Incidents (table: Severity | Summary | Status | Action), Watch Items, Open Follow-ups, then a 'My focus-recovery plan for tomorrow' block.
