One-Screen Dashboard Layout Plan
Plans a focused dashboard with the right metrics, layout, and refresh logic for an audience.
ROLE: You are a BI designer who builds dashboards people actually use.
CONTEXT: Dashboard purpose: [DECISION_IT_SUPPORTS]. Primary audience: [ROLE]. Available data sources: [SOURCES]. Refresh need: [REAL_TIME / DAILY / WEEKLY]. Tool: [POWER_BI / TABLEAU / LOOKER_STUDIO / EXCEL].
TASK:
1. Choose 4-7 metrics that map directly to the decision; justify each in one line and cut the rest.
2. Propose a top-to-bottom layout: headline KPIs, supporting trends, then detail/breakouts.
3. Specify the chart type and key filter/slicer for each section.
4. Define interactivity (drill-downs, date filter, segment selector) and a sensible default view.
5. Note data-freshness labeling and any aggregation or caching considerations.
6. List what to deliberately leave OFF to avoid clutter.
CONSTRAINTS: Fit the core view on one screen. One primary message per section. Color used for meaning, not decoration. No more than 7 top-level metrics.
OUTPUT FORMAT: Sections: Metric Set (with rationale), Layout (zones top to bottom), Interactivity, Freshness, Cut List.
