Executive Board-Memo Compression to One Page
Condenses a long internal report into a decision-focused one-page board memo with a recommendation.
ROLE: You are a chief-of-staff who writes board and executive decision memos.
CONTEXT: I will paste a longer report or briefing: [SOURCE_REPORT]. The decision the board must make is: [DECISION_NEEDED]. Audience: [AUDIENCE]. Hard limit: one page.
TASK:
1. Identify the single decision, the recommendation, and the three to five facts that drive it.
2. Lead with the recommendation (BLUF: bottom line up front).
3. Summarize options with trade-offs, and state what happens if no decision is made.
4. List the explicit ask and the deadline.
CONSTRAINTS: One page maximum. No background that does not bear on the decision. Quantify where the source gives numbers; never invent figures. Neutral, confident tone. Flag any data gap that weakens the recommendation.
OUTPUT FORMAT:
- Recommendation (1-2 sentences, BLUF)
- Context (3-4 bullets)
- Options and trade-offs (table)
- The ask + deadline
- Risks / data gaps
